In 2009, when we started djing Food Truck events, Chris and I decided to change Beach Club Productions into a funny play on words name, Pincha Discos. In Spain, disc jockeys are referred to as a pincha disco (pinching records).
At the time, the name seemed appropriate, since the whole food truck motif was based on play on words and we thought we could fit right in with this name. I had purchased a VW Bus back in 2004, and I had the idea to use it to transport our gear to gigs. Chris had the idea to DJ from the bus. In 2011, I began work on the bus. Unfortunately, it has been a long road to get this bus on the road. Missing parts, bad mechanics, bad luck and lack of funding have delayed the project for years. As of this writing, the engine rebuild has switched hands 3 times since August of 2014. We are hoping that finally in 2015, we will have the bus ready to go. So why the name change? I wanted to start out fresh in 2015 and incorporate the whole Volkswagen Bus concept into the whole djing experience. We accomplished quite a bit as Pd305, but I honestly got tired of the weird looks we would get when handing out business cards. We are rebranding and introducing very cool addon entertainment to the whole djing experience. In 2015, Volksmusik will be a roster of DJs with a diverse taste in music and experience. We hope that you will enjoy what we are bringing to the table next year. -Juan Luv

Aqui estamos. Every third Saturday of the month at Magic City Casino hosted by Burger Beast.
Tonight I pulled a back muscle so my djing experience wasn't quite delightful, thankfully, Hank Justice came armed with viejoteca hits and we kept it chilled. The sound seems to be traveling better by placing the speakers on the floor. The concrete walls and asphalt make a less than desirable hearing experience, but with the adjustments, we sounded great. Towards the end of the night, we had a surprise visit from the folks of Pastel de Guayaba bakery, Jorge is also the creator of Mamey Disco. We always have friends and supporters come by our events. Join us here every month! There are plenty of seating areas and beer is sold on premise. For details visit BurgerBeast.com What a great night this was at PRL Euro Cafe. This is the home of my Island Bass FL party, and this evening, we even had some confused Moombah-headz show up! That's ok, save that energy for September 27th.
I invited Hank Justice to do a set with me, and as expected, our back to back set was great albeit the usual technical challenges that come with djing at smaller venues like PRL. Hank managed to get great pics and video of the event. Thanks for the blog post and for coming out this evening. Full Mix to be uploaded soon! http://hankjustice.com/2014/08/31/neon-labor-day-weekend-blast-from-the-80s-saturday-august-30-2014-event-summary/# |
